Today’s date—5/25/25—is a palindrome that invites reflection. There is something poetic about symmetry, about things aligning in unexpected harmony. And this week, life did just that: it unfolded without drama, chaos, or disruption. It was, quite simply, a beautiful, peaceful week.

In the stillness, I found joy. I rediscovered a book tucked on my shelf—Everyday Spirit by Mary Davis. To my surprise, it was signed by the author. I have no memory of acquiring this book, and yet, it felt as though it was waiting for me, just for this moment in time. The words within spoke directly to my spirit, reminding me that happiness is not always spontaneous—it is a practice, a daily choice, a sacred discipline.

In her book, Davis shares stories of individuals who chose joy despite adversity. People who adapted, overcame, and flourished—not because life was easy, but because they committed to wisdom, peace, and the quiet strength of gratitude. These stories resonated with me deeply this week as I embraced the calm, the steadiness, the blessing of a week that simply flowed.

Sometimes, the most extraordinary gift is the ordinary day—drama-free, centered, and quietly joyful. Life is, as the palindrome suggests, full of balance when we choose to see it. Forward or backward, there is beauty. There is meaning.

And this week, there was peace.

Reflection Prompt: What small, ordinary moment brought you joy this week—and how can you honor it more intentionally in the coming days?
